In the book he makes the dichotomy between "early Luther" and "Later Luther" that you discuss but he does point out that Luther's harsher feelings toward the Jews wasn't racially motivated but due to frustration with their stubbornness toward the gospel. Thanks for the quotes that harmonizing the younger and older Luther. Fraiser,

This was unChristian and wrong, but it is not as bad as what Luther is usually accused of and it would have prevented the Holocaust. Fichte, Gobineau, Hegel, Kant, Lagarde, Haeckel, and Nietzsche all contributed much more to modern racial secular anti-Semitism.
